From Adelaide we flew to Brisbane and
Gladstone, then taking a helicopter over to Heron Island, as seen above on
our approach. |
Heron Island
made its first impression on us as a somewhat wild place as much under the
dominion of animals as humans, as we were continually dive-bombed by a
kind of black bird we had never seen before. Here they are, finally at
rest as evening fell.

As
evening continued to take over, we found this particularly picturesque
scene on the beach.

took a semi-submersible for a look along the Reef. |
